This is an expansion to the original game, The Settlers of Catan.
It is one of the best board game that I have played. It requires careful planning, negotiation skills and that bit of mischievousness to win at it. Luck does play a role (as in most board games) but the brilliant game mechanic does keep this to a minimum. It is a very competitive game and will be addicting if played with the right crowd.
Understanding all the different game mechanics and rules will be confusing at first but once you've played a couple of rounds, everything will be enjoyable.
I highly recommend this game for everyone who has that competitive edge in them ;)
