在遊戲初段，留著一些牌不打，等到其他玩家增加桌上的牌組，增加重組的機會才打，是個不錯的策略。有時候可以留著群組或順組的第四張牌不打，只打出三隻牌，那你下回合就能打出一張牌而不用抽牌。把百搭牌留在自己牌架上也是個好策略；不過你就要承擔其他玩家在你手持百搭（30分負分）時喊出「Rummikub！」的風險了。
